ORÁCULO

November 9, 2013 - December 31, 2013

Brad McCombs

NOTE: This is a Seed Space exhibition, curated by Rachel Bubis. Seed Space was founded by Adrienne Outlaw.

Oráculo transforms Seed Space while presenting participants with a dynamic interplay of science and technology.

Brad McCombs uses moss cloth to turn the white gallery into an organic green chamber. Upon entering the space, participants are invited to take a seat in a single black chair and engage with a video sculpture in the form of a futuristic blue monster. Interested in sociology and ecology, McCombs' simulated environment contemplates future realities.

"I can't escape the hypnotic repetition of the screen. It seduces and yet frightens. Nature has been reduced to a small room, a cartoon cosmos, and all that is left is a ticking eye.” - Claire Schneider, independent curator based in Buffalo, NY
